Fushun Bright Science and Technology Co.,Ltd

In the petrochemical industry, liquid testing in storage tanks requires professionals to climb on the tank for sampling. This tank-top sampling method faces many inconveniences, and the risks and hazards in terms of safety, environmental protection, and occupational health are becoming increasingly prominent.

Ⅰ. Product Introduction

1.Based on the standards of SH/T0233-92 "Liquefied Petroleum Gas Sampling Method" and "Safety Requirements for Closed Sampling in Petrochemical Industry", and in response to domestic industry needs, Fushun Boruite has successfully developed the DH series servo online sampling system through continuous improvement and upgrading, utilizing advanced servo technology. This system is tailored for modern sampling with higher requirements and quality. The system consists of three parts: the servo sampler, the tank bottom sampling box, and the sampling power control cabinet. Each storage tank is equipped with one servo sampler and one tank bottom sampling box, while each oil depot is equipped with one sampling power control cabinet.

It is suitable for leak-free sampling of various media in petrochemical plants, especially toxic, harmful, flammable, and explosive liquids. The collected samples exhibit strong authenticity and high accuracy, with no residual liquid/gas emissions, thus preventing environmental pollution. This reduces safety hazards during the sampling process of flammable and explosive media, making it safer and more environmentally friendly.

2.working principle

After the sampling management software sends the sampling instruction, the servo sampler controls the sampling bucket to move to the designated position. Upon completion of the operation, the system automatically completes the entire process of sample return, cleaning, and sampling, and transfers the oil sample from the sampling position to the sampling box under the tank. The operator can then open the sampling box under the tank to take the sample. All oil samples are collected under the protection of nitrogen, ensuring the purity and cleanliness of the oil samples while also being safer and more environmentally friendly.

3.Advantages and Features

(1)Easy installation - no need for tank cleaning or hot work for installation

The servo online sampler can be installed through any installation port, and can also share the installation location with liquid level gauges, metering ports, etc. It does not require tank cleaning or hot work, and does not affect production operations.

(2)Sampling accuracy - capable of sampling at any height point

The servo motion mechanism controls the sampling bucket to stop at any point, enabling sampling at any location within the tank. It precisely controls the sampling quantity, ensuring accurate sampling.

(3)Realize remote automated sampling

In the central control room, one-click sampling can be remotely completed, and the sampling system automatically carries out the sampling process. Operators only need to go to the site to collect oil samples, eliminating the need for long on-site waiting.

(4)No risk of leakage

Traditional sampling equipment requires holes to be drilled on the side wall of the tank bottom for installation, and flanges and valves are prone to oil leakage risks; servo online samplers are installed on the top of the tank, with no oil stored in the sampling pipeline, thus avoiding oil leakage risks.

(5)Safety and Environmental Protection

There is no need for manual tank entry for sampling, and sampling is conducted in a sealed environment, reducing the risk of employees inhaling oil and gas, improving efficiency, benefiting health, and being safer and more environmentally friendly.

(6)Sampling closed-loop monitoring

Traditional sampling pipelines may experience leakage due to aging, compromising the purity of the samples. Servo-controlled online samplers, on the other hand, can precisely control the weight of the oil fed in, ensuring that all the oil in the sampling cylinder originates from the sampling point.

(7)The sampled data is traceable

The operation software can record sampling locations and point instructions for long-term retention, and can trace historical sampling data based on operation records.

(8)Upgradability

The servo online sampler adopts a modular structure, allowing for functional upgrades according to customer needs, such as integration with other operating systems in oil depots and docking with smart oil depots.

4.System architecture and introduction

(1)servo sampler

The servo sampler, based on the control system's operational instructions, automatically collects oil samples by controlling the sampling bucket to the designated sampling position through the servo drive section.

Servo drive closed-loop: Closed-loop detection between the servo motor and torque sensor to ensure stable operation;

Precise positioning: Utilizing the same positioning technology as servo liquid level gauges, the accuracy of the sampling position is ±3mm;

Complete isolation: Utilizing magnetic isolation technology, the explosion-proof chamber and the intrinsically safe chamber are completely isolated;

(2)Undersampling tank

The sampling box beneath the tank is equipped with a valve assembly, control panel, and oil collection chamber. The oil sample is taken from the tank to the sampling box beneath it through automatic control of the valve assembly's action;

Closed sampling: The sampling process is isolated with nitrogen to ensure the purity of the oil sample and prevent contamination;

Safe and reliable: The system employs an explosion-proof valve assembly to control operations, and a pressure transmitter monitors pipeline pressure in real-time, ensuring reliable sampling processes;

Convenient sampling: The process of cleaning, sample return, and sampling is automatically completed, allowing customers to perform sampling with one click under their tank, making it simple and convenient.

(3)Sampling power control cabinet

The sampling power control cabinet primarily generates nitrogen gas for power and protection during sampling, and automatically starts and stops equipment according to sampling instructions;

(4)Sampling management software

Operators can select the sampling method through the sampling management software in the laboratory/central control room to complete automatic sampling by the equipment. After sampling is completed, operators can retrieve the oil sample directly from the sampling box under the tank, without the need to climb the tank or wait on site.

Rich functions: sampling at any location, single-point sampling, national standard liquid level mixed sampling, and mixed sampling at any location;

Metering system linkage: automatically obtain the liquid level value and calculate the sampling position;

Data traceability: The management software automatically records historical sampling data, allowing for easy query and traceability;

5.Installation of sampler

(1)Servo sampler

The servo sampler is installed on the tank's installation port via a flange, requiring the installation port to be ≥DN150. For floating roof tanks, the stabilizing liquid pipe is required to be ≥DN150, with convection holes drilled at intervals of 300mm, each with a diameter of 25mm. The inner wall must be free of metal burrs, and the horizontal displacement between the top and bottom must not exceed 10mm. The sampler can be installed separately or share an installation port with a level gauge or densitometer;

(2)Sampling box under the tank

The sampling box under the tank is installed under the tank or outside the fire dike, as close to the tank body as possible, in order to reduce the length of the oil pipeline and shorten the sampling time. The sampling box under the tank needs to be fixed on a bracket, with the box body connected to the bracket by bolts. The bracket is fixed to the ground using expansion bolts/chemical bolts, or the bracket is fixed with cement to ensure that the bracket is firm and reliable;

(3)Pipe connection

The oil sample is transported between the servo sampler and the sampling tank below the tank through a pipeline, which requires one DN40 and one DN20 galvanized pipe installed on the pipe wall;

(4)Sampling power control cabinet

The sampling power control cabinet needs to be installed in a room outside the fire dike, which should be well-ventilated and provided with 380V power supply.
